Local Artist for Lent

Categories: Downtown Campus,News

Amber C. Haines is a writer and poet who lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She is the author of Wild in the Hollow (Revell, 2015), which tells her personal story of finding the presence of God in the midst of her brokenness, not in spite of it. She has an honest and light-hearted style that is at once disarming and profound. Amber will be presenting spoken-word reflections during our Lenten worship services at 8:30, 9:45 & 11:00 a.m. You can find more of Amber’s work at the book store in the childcare lobby and on her website:

The Local Arts Initiative at First Church Springdale exists to enliven the Christian imagination by creating opportunities for engagement with the arts and supporting local artists in Northwest Arkansas. Through a new partnership with The Arts Center of the Ozarks, The Local Arts Initiative will facilitate extended galleries from the arts center, commission local artists for original works of art for the First Church congregation, and provide community outreach events that encourage creative participation in the arts.
